Real Betis striker Loren Moron who is said to be on the radar of Tottenham has picked out Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema as the striker whose qualities he most resembles.
La Razon claimed earlier this month that Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Moron and is keen on bringing him to North London after the club’s pursuit of Real Sociedad Willian Jose failed in January.
Estadio Deportivo reported last week that the striker, who played alongside Giovani Lo Celso at Betis last season, is keen on joining the Argentine at Spurs.
The 26-year-old was somewhat a late bloomer after only managing to break into Betis’ first team at the start of the 2017-18 season after three and a half years with the club’s reserve side.
The striker has been a regular in the La Liga side in the last two campaigns and has enjoyed a particularly impressive season having netting eleven goals in all competitions for Betis (transfermakt).
The Spaniard also discussed his future and revealed that he would be happy to continue at the La Liga side.
In an interview to Estadio Deportivo, the forward said: “I have achieved all my dreams here (at Betis). It has become a reality to reach the First Division and play in European competitions.
“I know the future is going to be good. If I had to stay here, perfect. It wouldn’t be a problem for me. It is my house, it is my land, it is my club, it is my people.
“Benzema is that type of footballer that I resemble.”
Spurs Web Opinion
While Moron’s technical qualities cannot be questioned, I am not particularly sure he has the pace and power required to trouble Premier League defences. Besides, his goalscoring record certainly isn’t too inspiring and so I don’t think he is the calibre of player we should be looking for as a back up to Kane.
