Striker previously linked with Spurs admits he wants to play with Kulusevski

Sweedish striker Joel Asoro, who was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar a few years ago, has admitted that he would like to reunite with Dejan Kulusevski.

Kulusevski has taken to the Premier League like duck to water since moving to Spurs from Juventus in January.

The Swede has already notched up nine-goal contributions (Transfermarkt) and formed a formidable partnership with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min upfront.

Asoro knows all too well of the Spurs winger’s talent, having played alongside Kulusevski for Sweden’s youth sides in the past.

The 22-year-old striker, who previously had spells at Sunderland and Swansea, now plays for Sweedish side Djurgardens.

The youngster admitted back in 2018 that Spurs tried to sign him but he chose against moving to the North London club since they were not able to make any promises regarding game time (Football.London).

Unlike Kulusevski, Asoro is yet to win a senior cap for Sweden but the striker admitted he would love to reunite with the Spurs man one day.

He told FotbollSkanalen: “Ideally, I would like to play with Dejan, my friend. It would be fun because we played a lot together when were little. I would like to experience that again.”

I suspect Asoro is talking about playing with Kulusevski for Sweden as the 22-year-old is unlikely to be on the radars of any Premier League clubs, let alone Spurs, given how his progress has stalled over the last years.
