Striker showers Harry Kane with praise months after being linked with Spurs move

Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has been one of the club’s better players in these dark few weeks at the start of the season.

While Harry has been scoring plenty of goals at one end of the pitch, Spurs have found it difficult to hold leads and keep clean sheets at the other end.

After back-to-back embarrassing defeats to Bayern Munich and Brighton, Kane now has a break to take his mind off Spurs by joining up with the England squad.

The England captain will likely feature against the Czech Republic tonight for his country, and with Lloris out injured, he will surely be the Spurs captain for the foreseeable future.

Kane is certainly a man who leads by example from the front line, something that fellow England striker and Bournemouth star, Callum Wilson, has paid testament to this week.

This comes just months after the Daily Mirror linked Wilson with a move to Tottenham, where he could have linked up with Kane again.

Wilson said (Telegraph): “He’s the captain, he plays well for his club week in, week out, so he’s doing something right.

“In training you watch how clinical he is, in the finishing sessions, training with him, doing those sessions. There is no laughing and joking, just pure concentration.

“Sometimes in club football, you’ll be doing a finishing session but having a bit of banter with the lads, a competition, laughing and joking, people missing, but in a game that is not what happens, you have to be focused. Harry is in that frame of mind and I have taken that into my own training back at Bournemouth.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Wilson would be a huge player to have at Tottenham, but I’m afraid that no player of that age and standing would accept playing second fiddle to Karry Kane week-in week-out.
