Striker’s agent confirms that Spurs have made contact over possible transfer

Victor Osimhen’s agent has confirmed that Tottenham are among a host of Premier League sides that have made contact over the possibility of signing the striker.

Osimhen has enjoyed a spectacular first season in Ligue 1 and his performances for Lille have seemingly forced several European giants to stand up and take notice (Le10Sport).

Spurs were linked with a move for the Nigeria international during the January transfer window (Sky Sports) and reports last month indicated that the North Londoners made a £62million offer to sign him this summer (Radio Kiss Kiss via Area Napoli).

Osimhen’s agent, Osita Okolo, previously questioned why the 21-year-old would move to Spurs with Harry Kane still at the club (The Cable).

Okolo has now admitted that there is no current agreement in place for the striker to leave Lille when the transfer market opens.

While he denied the rumours suggesting that the striker has agreed on a deal to join Napoli, he admitted that Spurs, along with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea had inquired about the striker.

Speaking to All Nigeria Soccer, Okolo said: Napoli has not agreed on a deal with Osimhen.”

“All the mentioned clubs (Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea) have made contact with him, but we will decide after his dad’s burial”.

Spurs Web Opinion

While I am not surprised that we were interested in Osimhen during the January transfer window, the COVID-19 crisis has all but ended our chances of landing him. I just cannot see us paying the kind of money it would take to sign the Nigerian this summer.
