Struggling Barca without 3 stars for Spurs clash

Tottenham Hotspur face Spanish giants Barcelona on Wednesday night, as they attempt to make up for lost points against Inter Milan in game week one of the Champions League.

Spurs led the game at the San Siro by a goal to nil with 85 minutes gone, but saw Milan score two late goals to snatch all three points.

A win at Wembley on Wednesday would go a long way to getting Spurs up and running in this year’s competition.

The team will take much inspiration from their drubbing of Barca’s fellow Spanish club Real Madrid last season, as Tottenham smashed them 3-1 at the national stadium.

Pochettino looks to be without the likes of Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli and Michel Vorm, with Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Christian Eriksen all doubts for the clash too.

However, Barcelona have issues of their own. Not only are they on a three game winless streak, but they are also without three key players for the trip.

Samuel Umtiti is suspended for the match after a red card against PSV last time out, while right back Sergi Roberto and summer signing Malcom are both left out of the squad.

Lionel Messi only played 35 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
