Stuart Pearce names the player that will be key for Spurs in season finish – and it isn’t Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur should have had a relaxing end to the season, with an outside chance at the title, but a guaranteed third place spot and Champions League next season.

However, after 11 dropped points from the last 12, Spurs are now embroiled in a tooth and nail fight for the top four.

Spurs, Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea will all fancy their chances to grab one of those final two Champions League spots.

Tottenham are currently in third, with Arsenal one behind, Man United three behind, and Chelsea four behind.

As we enter the tail end of the season, every point matters in the race for the top four, as a loss could see Spurs drop down significantly.

Tottenham will be counting on their biggest stars and leaders to stand up in these final few games, including Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Hugo Lloris.

However, Stuart Pearce has named Heung Min Son as they man he believes will be key to Tottenham’s season finish.

He said (SkySports as quoted by HITC): “I think it will be Son [as their key player until the end of the season]. I think he has been brilliant. He started the season fairly slowly, but the more he has got into his stride, his goals and his energy.

“He offers Tottenham something they haven’t got. A player that has got real pace and can run away from you. And an eye for a goal as well. I think he is crucial.”
