Football Insider are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has told his agent to start looking for a new team after having conversations with the club’s hierarchy.
The Kenyan international, who has two years left on his contract in North Lodnon, is reportedly keen on a move abroad to resurrect his career, after spending the majority of the last two seasons sidelined with injuries.
The former Southampton man was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s opening game of the season against Aston Villa and didn’t even make the matchday squad against Manchester City on Saturday evneing.
Some Spurs fans on social media were extremely disappointed on hearing about the Kenyan possibly leaving the club.
While they accepted it as inevitable, many did harp back to the midfielder’s performances in his first season at the club and wondered what might have been if his progress had not been hampered by injury.
Here’s how some Spurs fans on social media reacted to the report:
Sad to see him go, was a beast in 16/17.

Watching Wanyama and Dembele in this season throw opposition midfields around like they were little kids 😍 pic.twitter.com/hV0rCkEPrd

Spurs Web Opinion
Wanyama was simply phenomenal during his first season at Tottenham and has has been extremely unfortunate with injuries during the last two seasons. With the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, central midfield is arguably one of Tottenham’s strongest positions at the moment and the 28-year-old now has little chance of winning back his place in the team.
