Summer signing names Spurs team-mate as the best player he has played with

Joe Rodon has picked Gareth Bale above Harry Kane as the best player he has ever played with.

Kane has been a consistent performer for Spurs for many years but the striker seems to have taken his game to a new level this season.

Being deployed in a slightly deeper role than in previous seasons seems to have brought the best out of the striker, who has added assists to his game while continuing to find the back of the net at an astonishing rate.

Bale is often dubbed as British football’s best-ever export and Spurs fans only know too well of the Welshman’s ability to single-handedly win matches given the outstanding moments the wide-forward produced during his first spell at the club.

The 31-year-old did not have the best of starts on his return to North London but over the past few weeks, he has shown plenty of signs that suggest he is coming back to his best.

So, it certainly was not an easy question for Rodon when he was asked to pick the best player he has played with but the 23-year-old stayed loyal to his international teammate who was sitting alongside him.

When asked during a Q & A on Tottenham’s official Twitch channel to name the best player he has played with, the defender said: “Harry Kane… nah I’m joking.

“Harry is up there, but I’m going to go with this man sitting next to me [Gareth]. I promise it’s true.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bale has certainly achieved more in his career in terms of honours and there is no doubt that the Welshman was unplayable in his pomp. However, I believe that Kane is the better player among the two and I think that fact will be universally recognised by the time the 27-year-old hangs up his boots.
