The Sunday Telegraph are reporting that Portsmouth goalkeeper David James wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur in January.

The England international is keen to ensure his place in the squad for the World Cup finals as Fabio Capello’s first choice.

James was heavily linked with a switch to White Hart Lane during the summer, but it is reported that Daniel Levy refused to meet Pompey’s valuation of the 39-year-old.

Tottenham are still owed £2million from the Kevin Prince Boateng deal, with a source close to James stating that a deal could be resurrected.

Would you want David James to join Spurs?

  1. we have a better keeper already gomas sod off redknapp you are becoming 1 prize idiot you have inherited a bloody good side dont screw it up bloody portsmouth players might as well buy the whole fippin side i said this last year !

  2. Keith this is a rumour site. He knows exactly what hes doing, if this were true Harry would have bought James in place of Cudicini last January. COYS

  3. yea joalyid all the sites are wind-up but i am afriad its true about james mate harry really did try to buy him back aug but levy refused which i was pleased about but harry seems to be playing games with us spurs and levy .gomas has been fit for ages and should be playing but arry being is getting is own back in a childish way by playing carlo who i think is nowhere as good doesnt command his area shot stopping low good not got gomas reach thats why the caLLED HIM THE OCTOPUS and how many goals at home last year the lowest total ever so harry should stop playing games at our ex-spense

  4. I can’t see this happening, the guy’s nearly 40, he was never that good anyway, and we already have two belting keepers. Isn’t Gomes prone to exactly the sort of gaffs that James is famous for though?

  5. I would play Gomes as our No.1 goalkeeper(I am surprised he has not been playing for quite some time unless he is still injured) and perhaps bring in James as our No.2 until such time that we get a very good, younger and promising goalkeeper and sell Cudicini.
