Sunday speculation links Spurs with £10m midfielder bid

Tottenham are lining up a £10m bid for Lyon’s 21-year-old Bosnian midfield star Miralem Pjanic according to reports on Sunday.

The Sunday Mirror claim that after some glowing reports on the Bosnian international, Spurs are now ready to make an offer.

This one seems like a new rumour and haven’t previously heard any whispers of this on the various Spurs forums.

if we’re going to sign a midfielder why don’t we sign Juan Mata?[Quote]

Probably coz we don’t pay wages as big as the Mancs, Chelsea etc, neither can we offer CL ~ so the temptation of coming to “Spurs” is not as savouring for the “Modern Day” footballer as some may think?

And I think the same will apply to most of the top players we have/will show interest in & they’ll probably drag it out until 11pm on the 31st August if nothing better is available as they can always do a Modric if they have a good season ~ I dunno?

  2. I give up. Were going to start the season with the same forward donkeys that cost us a champions league spot last season. We need 3 top class signings and we have…zero. Might get one by the start of the season but it won’t be enough. 7th is what were looking at.

  3. Well without wanting to be too downhearted, it does look like Harry’s marquee signings will not be playing for us at the Lane this coming season. Can’t help thinking this elusive ‘marquee’ signing should have been brought in during last window to push for that CL spot last season which perhaps could have swayed a few targets during this window.

Anyway realistically speaking we managed to get 5th last season on the back of a good CL campaign so basically we need to keep the faith with what we have (what else can we do). The fear for us spurs fans is seeing other clubs around us strengthening in a lot of areas (Liverpool and Man City) of note so unless we do add to our current squad with some real quality or by some miraculous change our strikers start to hit form the best we can hope for is a top 6 finish and maybe a cup win. I hate to be negative but it’s hard not to be watching our apparent inactivity or continual rejections in this window.
