Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Man United in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur fans may not be encouraged by what Opta’s Supercomputer has predicted ahead of the team’s trip to Man United.

Spurs can take plenty of confidence from the way they fought back against Man City in the second half after they looked dead and buried at the interval.

The fact that the Lilywhites did it with so many players missing makes it an even better achievement, and Tottenham fans will be hoping that their side can build on that momentum when they face the other side from Manchester on Saturday.

However, the Red Devils are a completely different side to what they were a few weeks ago, with Michael Carrick galvanising the club since replacing Ruben Amorim at the helm.

Man United are massive favourites to beat Tottenham

The one positive for Spurs is that Thomas Frank has said that Micky van de Ven could be fit for the trip to Old Trafford, while he confirmed that Djed Spence will also not be out for long.

However, despite that, Opta’s Supercomputer has installed the home side as considerable favourites, giving them an exact 50 per cent chance of getting all three points.

A draw and a Spurs win are deemed almost equally as likely, with the data analysis platform giving a 25.2 per cent chance for the former and a 24.8 per cent chance for the latter.

Spurs have an excellent record against Man United of late

Tottenham boast of an excellent record against United over recent years, having beaten them four times last season, including in the Europa League final.

The Spurs players will also have happy memories of Old Trafford, having won 3-0 at the stadium last season.

Tottenham have shown signs of improvement over recent weeks, and with Xavi Simons now playing with confidence and Dominic Solanke back in action, they will feel they can hurt United.
