Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Nottingham Forest in the Premier League

Tottenham fans may be surprised by what Opta’s Supercomputer has said about Spurs’ chance of beating Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Spurs have struggled for consistency in the Premier League this season, and currently find themselves in the bottom half of the table.

However, they appear to have turned a corner over the last week, getting a hard-fought draw at Newcastle and following that up with two back-to-back wins over Brentford and Slavia Prague.

Spurs now go into their clash at the City Ground on Sunday with some momentum, and they have been given a decent chance of getting a positive result.

Tottenham are slight favourites against Nottingham Forest

Opta’s Supercomputer, which has been far from generous towards Spurs in its predictions this season, has installed the Lilywhites as marginal favourites at Forest.

The algorithm gives Thomas Frank’s men a 38.8 per cent chance of emerging with all three points from the City Ground.

The home side have only been given a 35.2 per cent chance of winning while Opta have said that a draw is the least likely result at 26 per cent.

It thus appears that the supercomputer considers this game almost too close to call, and gives the away side the edge.

Why the clash against Forest presents a huge opportunity for Spurs

There was a lot of negativity surrounding Spurs until a little over a week ago, but the last three results have absolved some of the pressure on the team and the coaching staff.

Tottenham now have some momentum after two consecutive wins and clean sheets, and they now have a great opportunity to build a real head of steam with a win over Forest.

Winning a third consecutive fixture will give a lot of confidence to the squad, but a loss at the City Ground could kill the momentum that has been built and make things very difficult when Liverpool visit N17 on December 20.
