Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to win the entire Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur continue to impress in the Champions League as their Premier League results go from bad to worse.

In many respects, this season is shaping up very similarly to the last one for the Lilywhites, for all the right and wrong reasons.

Spurs are ravaged by an injury crisis so severe that Thomas Frank is struggling to even get eleven fit senior players on the pitch.

Additionally, Tottenham continue to slide down the Premier League table, but are continuing to impress in Europe. In fact, Thomas Frank’s men are the only team in this season’s Champions League to have not conceded a single goal at home.

What are Tottenham’s chances of winning the Champions League?

Some Spurs fans may be dreaming of the possibility that, just like last season, this season could have a very happy ending, with Cristian Romero holding the Champions League trophy at the Puskas Arena in Budapest in May.

However, Opta’s Supercomputer has said that the possibility is extremely unlikely, giving Tottenham just a 1.32 per cent chance of lifting the trophy for the first time in their history.

The data analysis platform have deemed Arsenal the clear favourites, giving them a 29.44 per cent chance, followed by Bayern Munich at 19.08 per cent.

How far does Opta expect Spurs to get in the Champions League?

The likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon and Newcastle United have all also been deemed more likely than Spurs to win the Champions League.

Opta gives Tottenham a 52.94 per cent chance of making it into the round of 16 stage of the competition and a 34.96 per cent chance of reaching the quarterfinal.

The algorithm gives the North London side a 12.33 per cent chance of making the final four and just a 3.47 per cent chance of being in the showpiece final in Budapest.
