Tottenham Hotspur’s dismal Premier League season may be heading for a new low, with Opta’s supercomputer now predicting a finish that would cement Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs as the worst in recent history.
It has been painful viewing for Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Premier League this term. Spurs have played 32 games, losing 17 and winning just 11, leaving them in a precarious position with only 37 points on the board.
In fact, should Tottenham fail to pick up at least eight points from their remaining six fixtures, they’ll be staring down the barrel of their worst-ever Premier League points return.
And for a club of their stature, that’s a damning indictment of how far they’ve fallen.

Opta AI predicts Tottenham to match worst-ever points return in a Premier League season
While many supporters have mentally checked out of the league campaign—and understandably so—Opta’s AI model has crunched the numbers and delivered its verdict on where Spurs are likely to finish.
The supercomputer currently forecasts a 15th-place finish for Tottenham Hotspur, which just so happens to be their current position in the table. No movement, no surge, just a continuation of the malaise.
However, there’s a faint glimmer of hope. The AI predicts that Tottenham will pick up at least seven more points from their final 18 available.
That would see them finish on 44.4 points, equalling their lowest ever Premier League tally, set back in 97/98.
Tough fixtures ahead for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou
When you look at Tottenham’s run-in, fans need to brace themselves for the worst, as Ange Postecoglou’s side faces a brutal final stretch between now and matchday 38, with little margin for error.
Their next outing, following the Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, sees them take on Nottingham Forest—currently sitting third in the Premier League—in what promises to be another uphill battle.
It only gets tougher from there. Spurs will head to Anfield to face Liverpool, who might just secure the title in that game.
Then, it’s a trip to the London Stadium for a London derby against 17th placed West Ham United before closing the season with fixtures against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa away, and Brighton at home.
