Supercomputer predicts where Spurs will finish this season in the Premier League

Tottenham’s season was in danger of petering out after their humiliating loss to Dinamo Zagreb last Thursday which ended the club’s European ambitions this season.

It seemed as though Spurs had blown their best chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League when they were knocked out of the Europa League.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men put in a spirited display to come away with three points from Villa Park on Sunday, proving that they still have plenty of fight left in them this season.

The table looks much rosier for Spurs after their win over Villa as the North Londoners now sit in sixth place in the table, just three points behind Chelsea in fourth place and a point behind West Ham.

However, according to talkSPORT’s supercomputer, which predicts where teams will finish based on metrics like form and difficultly of fixtures, Tottenham are set to finish well outside the top four this season.

According to the calculations, Spurs are projected to finish in eighth place, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool predicted to round out the top four, along with Manchester City.

The supercomputer predicts that Arsenal, who currently languish six points below Spurs, will leapfrog the Lilywhites to finish seventh.

While getting knocked out of the Europa League was certainly a big blow, it could prove to be a blessing in disguise for Spurs as far as the race for the top four is concerned. While the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool could have a fixture pile-up, we could concentrate purely on winning our league games.
