Supercomputer updates Tottenham relegation prediction after Forest beat Burnley 4-1

Add as preferred source on Google

Tottenham’s survival battle has taken another twist, with Nottingham Forest’s win over Burnley shifting the outlook on how likely Spurs are to beat the drop this season.

There are still five games remaining, with 15 points up for grabs before the 2025/26 Premier League season concludes, and Tottenham Hotspur still have everything to play for as they remain firmly in the relegation zone.

However, the task at hand for the Lilywhites could get worse, as by the end of matchweek 33, Spurs could be four points adrift of safety should West Ham United beat Crystal Palace.

Regardless, Roberto De Zerbi is confident that his Tottenham side can end their league season on 46 points, a tally that will surely see them avoid relegation.

Of course, the Brighton performance offers some encouragement for Spurs, who looked a much better side, and had it not been for a lapse in concentration from Kevin Danso, they could have secured all three points.

Tottenham relegation odds shift after Forest win and Opta prediction

However, it becomes even harder for Tottenham when their relegation rivals are in good form and picking up points each week.

Unfortunately for the Lilywhites, for the second gameweek running, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have picked up more points than they have, and should West Ham beat Crystal Palace, the same will apply to them as well.

Following Forest’s latest win, Opta’s AI has now predicted how likely the Tricky Trees are to get relegated.

As it stands, Forest have been handed a 4.50% chance of relegation, with their odds significantly reduced following their 4-1 win over Burnley on Sunday. Before that clash, Forest had been given a 9.05% chance of going down to the Championship.

Spurs relegation odds rise as West Ham and Forest battle intensifies

As for West Ham United, their relegation odds have increased by 2% despite not kicking a ball yet this matchweek, which is perhaps influenced by Forest’s win.

However, should they beat Crystal Palace, their new 38.47% chance of relegation is expected to drop significantly if they move four points clear of Tottenham.

Spurs now have relegation odds of 56.58% following Forest’s win, which has risen by two per cent after they were previously given a 54.22% chance following the draw with Brighton.

This, however, does not affect the points each side is predicted to finish on, with Forest still forecasted to end on 41 points, West Ham 38 and Spurs 36.

It remains finely poised, but Tottenham will need favours from elsewhere if they are to climb out of the drop zone with everything still to play for.
