Surprise omission from the Liverpool match day squad ahead of Spurs clash

Tottenham Hotspur face a visit to Anfield today, as first plays third in the Premier League.

Spurs may no longer be in the title race themselves, but with matches away to both Liverpool and Man City, they could have a huge hand in deciding where the trophy ends up.

However, the Lilywhites also have their own race to think about, as they now find themselves embroiled in a fight for the top four.

After yesterday’s matches, Man United are now level on points with Spurs, behind only on goal difference.

Arsenal are one point behind and play on Monday, while Chelsea sit four behind United and Spurs.

It is therefore of vital importance that Spurs pick up three points today, after dropping 11 of their last 12 possible.

According to the Independent, Liverpool have not included Nabi Keita in their provisional match day squad, which could ease Tottenham worries, as their midfield is set to be depleted too without Harry Winks and Eric Dier.
