Alejo Veliz has revealed that Ange Postecoglou endorsed his loan move to Sevilla, asking the youngster to use the opportunity to gain some much-needed experience at the top level.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding Veliz in Argentine football, with the striker taking the Primera Division by storm after breaking into Rosario Central’s starting eleven last season.
It did not take long for the big European sides to take notice of his talent, with Spurs reportedly paying £18m including add-ons to bring him to North London last summer.
Although the 20-year-old is yet to make a start for the Lilywhites, he showed in some of his cameos off the bench just why he is so highly rated back in his home country, with the forward not only displaying a goalscorer’s instinct but also being quite adept at using his body to protect the ball.
Veliz will now be hoping to get regular starts under his belt at Sevilla and show his employers just what he can do, with the striker quite excited about his move to Andalusia.

What did Postecoglou tell Veliz about loan move to Sevilla?
He told the La Liga side’s official website: “Before coming to England there had already been talks with Sevilla. Rosario Central then decided on Tottenham, but there was already that link, I had seen videos of Sevilla and the fact that this has come up is a very nice step for me.”
When asked what Postecoglou told him ahead of his switch to Seville, the striker responded: “(He told me) to take advantage of this opportunity at a huge club and to give my all to try to get as many minutes as possible. After that, time will tell.”
