‘Take him for 50p’ – Some Spurs fans annoyed at club reportedly turning down player approach

Tottenham Hotspur have had a number of underperforming players so far this season, but one that stands out above the vast majority is Serge Aurier.

After a good start to his season against Crystal Palace and Leicester, the Ivorian hit the self-destruct button on his Tottenham career.

With Spurs 1-0 up and cruising at home to Southampton in a win they desperately needed to get their season back on track, Aurier picked up two needless yellow cards in the first half.

This sent Spurs down to ten men, with the players left out on the pitch having to dig deep to see out the eventual 2-1 victory.

To make matters worse, Aurier’s display against Bayern Munich later that week was an embarrassment, both offensively and defensively.

Aurier offered nothing in attack and seemed to completely give up defending after Spurs let the first few goals in.

With TuttoSport reporting that Spurs have turned down an approach from AC Milan for the player, some Tottenham fans are not best pleased on Twitter:
