Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction to comments made by Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Saints captain was linked with a summer switch to North London back in January by Sky Sports who claimed that he is one of Tottenham’s top targets.
Hojbjerg is out of contract at St Mary’s in the summer of 2021 and is yet to put pen to paper on a contract extension.
The former Bayern Munich player changed agents late last year when he swapped the services of Soren Lerby to sign with super-agent Pini Zahavi (B.T), who also broked Jose Mourinho’s deal which saw the Portuguese replace Mauricio Pochettino as head coach at Tottenham (Sky Sports).
With Tottenham struggling for natural holding midfielders within their ranks following the departures of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama, some fans have welcomed a move for Hojbjerg.
The 24-year-old described Tottenham as ‘a big club’ when asked about the rumoured interest by Viaplay, as relayed by Danish publication B.T.
