‘Talking about us differently’ – Postecoglou outlines his aims for the future with Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the press today ahead of the game against West Ham tomorrow, and had plenty to say about where he wants his team to be 12 months from now.

Ange Postecoglou saw his Spurs side come back from a goal down, yet again, at the weekend, to claim all three points in a home game against relegation-threatened Luton Town.

The result saw Tottenham keep pace with Aston Villa in the race for fourth place, with a three-point gap remaining and the Lilywhites still having a game in hand on Unai Emery’s side.

Next up for Spurs is a big London derby against West Ham. The Hammers are involved in their own battle for a European spot right now, currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League.

Postecoglou has high hopes for Spurs

In his latest press conference (via Football.London), Postecoglou discussed his goals for the remainder of the campaign, and what he hopes Spurs can become in the future.

He said: “We want to finish the season strong and keep building on the foundation of being a team that hopefully in 12 months’ time people are looking at us differently and talking about us differently.

“To do that it can’t just be about where you finish and how many points you get, it’s got to be more than that. Obviously, if we finish strong then we’ll finish in a decent position and we’ll see where that takes us.”

It’s important to remember that this season has been a huge transition period for the squad and the club as a whole. The fact we might finish fourth this year is amazing, and sets us up for further success down the line once Postecoglou gets the players he wants.
