talkSPORT presenter Alex Crook has taken to Twitter this evening to give his understanding of the situation surrounding Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.
Sky Sports claimed earlier that Kane had reiterated his desire to leave the club this summer with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all wasting no time in making contact with Kane’s agent.
Crooks reported that Kane first spoke to chairman Daniel Levy last summer to express his desire to depart the former Champions League finalists but was persuaded to stay to see if the club could finally end their long wait for silverware under the management of Jose Mourinho.
Tottenham released a statement through talkSPORT this evening where they claimed that the focus should be on the remainder of the season.
The 27-year-old currently tops both the Premier League’s goalscoring and assist charts for this season.
Tottenham are next in action on Wednesday evening when they host Aston Villa in the penultimate match of the campaign.
#THFC not denying Harry Kane has asked to leave @talkSPORT sources understand #MCFC is his preferred destination. I’m also told he first spoke to Daniel Levy about his desire to move on LAST summer but was persuaded to stay to see if they could challenge for honours under Jose.
