talkSPORT pundit gives his verdict on new Spurs stadium

Tottenham Hotspur held their first test event at the brand new 62,000 seat stadium yesterday, with the first match being an under 18s affair.

Spurs took on Southampton in the first game on the new turf, with Oliver Skipp and co beating the Saints 3-1.

The stadium will officially open for senior competitive business on April 3 when Spurs welcome Crystal Palace in a London derby.

This will come after the club hold a second and larger test event next weekend, when Spurs Legends will take on Inter Forever.

It has been a long wait for Tottenham fans to finally get their bums on their seats in the new stadium, with the original opening meant for September 2018.

However, few will complain about the delays now, as the reception to the ground has been overwhelmingly positive.

talkSPORT pundit Ian Abraham’s is the latest figure in the footballing world to heap praise on the stadium.

He stated (talkSPORT): “This is the best stadium in this country, and best I have seen on my travels around the world.

“But this sort of thing is subjective, make your own minds up when you come here.”
