Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has provided the French media with an update on his fitness.
Ndombele became the club’s record signing when he moved to North London in a £63million deal from Lyon during the summer transfer window (Sky Sports).
The 22-year-old came off at half time during the 1-1 draw against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon with what appeared to be a groin strain which led to Mauricio Pochettino admitting after the match that Ndombele’s withdrawal affected his team (Independent).
Despite suffering the problem, Ndombele was named in the French squad for their upcoming international Euro 2020 qualifiers.
The World Cup holders will face Moldova in Paris on Thursday, followed by a trip to Albania on Sunday.
Ndombele admits that his chances of being available for the Moldova match is uncertain but will be ready to take on Albania.
The midfielder has shown glimpses of brilliance for Tottenham this season with his ability to play a killer pass in the final third of the pitch but needs to get his body ready for the demands of the Premier League.
“I had tests that said there was nothing serious, it was more fatigue,” he told L’Equipe.
“What is certain is that I am fit for Sunday. Thursday may be a little early, I don’t think I’ll be 100%.”
