Tanguy Ndombele sends message to Spurs fans

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has taken to social media to send a message to fans after being on the receiving end of some tough criticism from Jose Mourinho.

The Tottenham boss singled out Ndombele’s poor first-half performance during 1-1 draw against Burnley on Saturday (Sky Sports).

While the Spurs boss has been on the receiving end of some criticism for the way he publically called out the Frenchman, whereas other pockets of supporters have supported his decision given the midfielder’s poor showing in recent months.

The 23-year-old arrived for a club-record fee from Lyon last summer with plenty of expectations on his shoulders but after a decent start in his first couple of months in North London he has failed to show his true potential

Ndombele’s fitness has also been a cause for concern with the midfielder seemingly unable to consistently complete ninety minutes in the Premier League (talkSPORT).

The former Lyon man took to Instagram on Monday to post a picture of himself and Serge Aurier smiling during yesterday’s training session at Hotspur Way.

The post was captioned: ‘Keep The Smile’

Spurs Web Opinion

Jose’s decision to call Ndombele out publically was clearly a calculated move on his part in order to incite a reaction from the midfielder. However, the Frenchman doesn’t strike me as the kind of character who would respond to a kick up the backside. He seems like the kind of player who needs an arm around his shoulder.
