Tottenham Hotspur secured their record signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon three days ago, overtaking Davinson Sanchez as the club’s most expensive player.
Ndombele joined for a fee of £53.8m, but this could rise over time due to add-ons, potentially reaching £62.8m.
The midfielder signed a bumper six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2025 after impressing in the Champions League and Ligue 1 last season.
This is a hugely important signing and a major statement from Spurs and Daniel Levy as to the club’s intentions moving forward.
Spurs reached their first ever Champions League final last season and are clearly looking to kick on from this amazing achievement.
Tottenham sold fan-favourite Mousa Dembele back in January of this year, a player who had starred in Pochettino’s midfield since the Argentine arrived.
Dembele’s boots were always going to be tough to fill, but Spurs have certainly spent the money to do so.
Ndombele has now taken to social media for the first time since joining the North London club.
