Tanguy Ndomble offers refreshingly honest assessment of his performance at Wolves

Tanguy Ndombele has taken to Instagram to offer an honest assessment of his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

The French international was named in Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting eleven at Molineux, having come back into favour under the Portuguese after being overlooked at the start of the campaign.

Ndombele experienced a mixed night in the Black Country having been the spark of creativity within the Spurs side, but also showed his potential to be a liability on occasions.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring with a fine run and finish having pressured the Wolves defence, however he did experience two moments to forget which led to the home side scoring on both occasions.

He was easily beaten in the air by Leander Dendoncker from a corner kick in the first half and also lost possession in his own half which led to Daniel Podence’s second-half equaliser.

Ndombele admitted on his Instagram post that he did not have his best game, but was pleased to see his side progress to the next round of the cup competition.

His caption read: “Happy to have scored my first goal of the season. Not my best game but I’m proud of the team for the qualification. We keep going #LaFeinte.”
