Team News: Antonio Conte provides positive injury update for Man City clash

Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Manchester City press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

It would be an understatement to say that Tottenham are going through a tough time at the moment with the north London derby defeat to Arsenal on Sunday highlighting the gulf between the two sides at present both on and off the pitch.

Yet another drab first half display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against their bitter rivals helped to contribute to yet another loss which has now seen the side win just three of their previous nine Premier League matches.

Despite City having shown a patch of indifferent form with just two wins out of their last five top flight outings, a trip to the Etihad Stadium could not come at a worse time for a Spurs side not only lacking confidence, but also any idea of an identity on the pitch.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Conte revealed that Rodrigo Bentancur is fit and available for selection following the injury he picked up at the World Cup.

He told Football.London: “Team news like I said after the game against Arsenal, Rodrigo Bentancur trained with us and he’s available. He will be available for the game against City.”
