Team News: Antonio Conte reveals whether Eric Dier can play against Wolves

Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have been part of Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Wolverhampton Wanderers press conference via Zoom this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the match in North London on Sunday afternoon where they will be looking to close the gap on the top four.

Tottenham must overcome Wednesday night’s disappointment suffered against Southampton where they threw away a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 inside the final ten minutes of the match.

Journalists are continuing to dial into the press conference via the Zoom web conferencing platform following the recent Covid-19 outbreak at the club’s training ground in November which halted the brief return of those who were permitted back into the building to pose their questions to the Italian in person.

Conte revealed that Eric Dier is not fit to face Wolves on Sunday, but he hopes the central defender may be able to return in time for the match against Man City. Meanwhile, Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga also remain out injured (Football London).

He said (Football London): “Unfortunately he’s not fit. For sure he’s a big loss for us. He needs a bit more time to recover. I don’t know, I hope he will be available for the next game against Man City.”
