Team news as key man returns for Southampton clash

Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be feeling the effects of the North London derby loss at the weekend, but there is nothing like a win to raise spirits again.

Spurs take on Southampton tomorrow, with the Saints’ likely to have a new manager in place by then.

Typically teams often come out of the blocks fighting when a new gaffer comes in, as the players will all be desperate to prove their worth, so it won’t be an easy affair.

Luckily, there is some good news, as Spurs have a key man returning to the starting XI.

Kieran Trippier has returned to training and is available for selection after suffering a groin injury.

Meanwhile, Mousa Dembele is said to be only a few weeks away as he continues his ankle rehabilitation.

Erik Lamela is still suffering from a minor muscle injury, but shouldn’t be out for too long.

Victor Wanyama continues his rehabilitation, and Davinson Sanchez has progressed to on-field rehab.

Finally, Jan Vertonghen will serve a one-match suspension after his two yellow cards against Arsenal, however he would have been an unlikely starter for this tie anyway.
