Team news: Conte confirms injured stars remain out for Leicester City clash

Tottenham Hotspur face a trip to Leicester this week in the Premier League after being forced to postpone their North London Derby against Arsenal on Sunday.

However, the Foxes are suffering from similar problems to the Gunners, with as many as 11 first-team players unavailable according to reports.

Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, Ryan Bertrand and Jamie Vardy are all said to be injured, while Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho are at the African Cup of Nations and Boubakary Soumare is ill.

Spurs will be hoping to see this game go ahead as they are already four games behind the likes of West Ham in the race for top four.

Antonio Conte revealed in his press conference this afternoon that Tottenham’s injury situation is the same, adding that the players would not return until after the international break at the end of January.

Spurs currently have Heung-min Son, Eric Dier and Steven Bergwijn out injured, while Cristian Romero and Sergio Reguilon recently returned to training.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It will be good to get Cristian Romero back in the side over the next couple of weeks as Spurs have really missed that strength in depth at the back. Having a back three of Romero, Dier and Davies is a very interesting proposition.
