Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Southampton press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon ahead of the Premier League opener this weekend.
Spurs welcome the Saints to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon looking to get their top flight campaign off to the best possible start.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
Conte has revealed that Oliver Skipp will miss the match as a result of the freak heel injury that he sustained during training, while a decision will be made on summer signing Yves Bissouma tomorrow.
Bissouma is said to have picked up a hamstring strain during last weekend’s pre-season friendly against Roma in Israel (Football.London).
Conte on injuries: "In this moment we have only one player I’m sure will miss Southampton, it is Skipp. About Bissouma, we have another day to check his physical condition. Tomorrow we have another training session to make an evaluation."

Tottenham fans will be hoping that any injury issues soon go away and do not cause a significant impact on our aspirations for the season ahead. Skipp and Bissouma have both have previously had very good injury records and hopefully, they will both be back in contention for selection soon.
