Team News: Conte issues injury update on Sergio Reguilon ahead Liverpool match

Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have been part of Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Liverpool press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the match in North London on Sunday.

Journalists are continuing to dial into the press conference via the Zoom web conferencing platform following the recent Covid-19 outbreak at the club’s training ground.

Liverpool come into the fixture having beaten Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield last night while Spurs have not taken to the field since beating Norwich City on December 5th having seen their matches against Burnley (snow) and the subsequent fixtures against Rennes, Brighton and Leicester City all postponed due to the virus.

Conte provided a positive update on Sergio Reguilon’s recent injury, having revealed that the Spaniard trained with his team-mates today and will do so again tomorrow ahead of the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Reguilon was forced off during the first half of the win against Norwich with a thigh issue.

Conte told Football.London: “Sergio until today trained apart but he’s ready to have the training session with us tomorrow and the player is comfortable to be back in training with us. I hope that tomorrow he’s totally recovered but today Sergio was happy. His feeling was good.”
