Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Arsenal press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

On Saturday, Tottenham return to Premier League action with a trip to the Emirates to face their bitter rivals who are currently a point ahead of them.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Mikel Arteta’s table toppers.

Tottenham have beaten Southampton, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Leicester and drew against Chelsea and West Ham, while Arsenal have arguably had an easier start to the campaign with their fixtures to date.

Conte’s side pipped the Gunners to fourth place last season following their capitulation in the last few matches which saw Spurs move ahead of them in the table.

Antonio Conte revealed that some Spurs players had returned from the international break with physical problems.

He said (Sky Sports’ Football Daily): “We have to wait tomorrow to check some players because they return from the national team with some physical problem. Tomorrow will be very important, the last training session to understand the players that we can count.”

Football London also quoted Conte as saying: “Honestly I don’t want to speak about the injury because I don’t want to give advantage to Arsenal, yeah?

“But for sure we have to face some problems, some physical problems and we have to know also we have just started to play the first game in a run that we have to play 13 days in 43 days.

“For sure we have to try to make the best solution and not take big risks. If we take big risks and lose players for the rest of the games, it will be a disaster. To play with three games I need to count on the whole squad.”
