Team News: Conte reveals two Spurs players return for Everton match while duo are still out

Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Everton press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Tottenham return to Premier League action on Monday night when they host the Toffees in north London looking to return to winning ways following the disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Championship outfit Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where they are desperate to take all three points to close the gap in the race for the top four.

Spurs find themselves in seventh place in the table but are five points off the top four with two games in hand over fourth-placed Manchester United.

Conte revealed that Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Moura are both back in contention for selection while Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga remain sidelined.

Conte was quoted by Alasdair Gold, who was part of the press conference as saying: “Bentancur is available and the same for Lucas Moura. Skipp and Tanganga still not available.”

Having Bentancur back fit is a massive boost for Spurs given the sub-standard performances by Harry Winks and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park during the midweek FA Cup exit at Middlesbrough. He offers a completely different ability than the other pair when it comes to looking to pass the ball forwards, rather than sideways or behind.
