Team News: Cristian Stellini provides injury update for Chelsea clash

Assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Chelsea press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

The Italian was on media duties once again today in place of Antonio Conte who is currently recovering from surgery after having his gallbladder removed after experiencing severe abdominal pain earlier this month.

Spurs remain without Hugo Lloris, Ryan Sessegnon, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur with the latter having undergone successful surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Spain earlier this week and could be out for around nine months (Football.London).

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Graham Potter’s strugglers, who are currently in tenth place in the Premier League table and a win for the north Londoners would see them extend their advantage over their rivals to fourteen points.

For Spurs, with Newcastle and Manchester United not being in Premier League action this weekend due to the League Cup final, it would see them further cement their place in the top four with all three points remaining at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Stellini revealed that there are no new injury concerns heading into this weekend’s fixture, which comes as a welcome relief with a number of important matches on the horizon.

He told Football.London: “Same squad, not any news. Nothing new to the last game.”
