Team News: Jose Mourinho provides squad update ahead of Dinamo Zagreb

Jose Mourinho has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Dinamo Zagreb press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to Croatia for tomorrow’s Europa League round of sixteen, second leg.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing platform after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.

Spurs head into the tie with a two-goal advantage and will be looking to put the disappointment in the North London derby behind them by booking their place in the last eight of the competition.

The Spurs boss revealed that he will be without Heung-min Son for the match while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg serves a one-game suspension. However, there is some good news with Giovani Lo Celso having returned to training following his back problem.

Joe Rodon is unavailable once again after he was left out of the 25-man squad for the competition.

Mourinho said, as quoted by Alasdair Gold: “So Hojbjerg is suspended, Rodon not in the Europa list, Sonny is injured. Apart from that everyone back. Lo Celso back in training.”
