Team News: Jose Mourinho provides update on Serge Aurier and Lo Celso

Jose Mourinho has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Burnley press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the visit of Sean Dyche’s Burnley to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing platform after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions mean that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.

Spurs have now lost five of their last six Premier League outings, meaning their hopes of securing Champions League qualification for next season are hanging by a thread and will be looking to stop the rot against the Clarets.

Mourinho revealed that all players apart from Giovani Lo Celso are available to play this weekend against Burnley. The Argentine is said to still be around a week away from a return.

The Spurs head coach said (Football London): “Serge is fine, he’s fine. Trained today with the team without any limitations.

“As I was saying, everybody is training with the team and Gio is the only one that is not in conditions to play this weekend. I think even next week will be quite premature for not to say impossible, but he’s coming.

“Today for the first time in a long time, the medical department could watch the draw as they didn’t have any players inside.”
