
Jose Mourinho has provided an update on his squad to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Manchester City press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to the Etihad Stadium tomorrow evening in the Premier League.
Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.
City come into the match in remarkable form after they registered a 15th successive win in all competitions against Swansea in the FA Cup – the longest run by a top-flight side in English football history.
Dan Kilpatrick reported that Mourinho talked about the fitness of three key Spurs players in the press conference.
Giovani Lo Celso is ‘not even close’ to a Tottenham return after suffering an elongated period on the sidelines this season. Serge Aurier is set to be assessed today ahead of the City clash, while Harry Kane coped well with the hour against Everton.
No word was given on Sergio Reguilon or any potential return from injury.
