Team News: Mason reveals he has ‘question marks’ over players ahead of Aston Villa

Ryan Mason has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Aston Villa press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Premier League fixture with Mason answering questions prior to the visit of Dean Smith’s side to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow evening.

Harry Kane’s future at the North London club has dominated the media ever since Sky Sports claimed last night that the forward has reiterated his desire to leave this summer.

Spurs will be focused on looking to finish the remaining two games as strongly as possible with Europa League qualification in their own hands and come into the fixture on the back of an improved performance against Wolves.

Mason has revealed that Ben Davies remains sidelined due to the calf problem he suffered in the return fixture against Villa in March.

Serge Aurier has returned to training following the hamstring issue that kept him out of the Wolves match while Mason also admitted that there are question marks over some players including whether Gareth Bale will be ready to start.

He told Football.London: “Ben still out. Serge is back and training. A couple of question marks over a few players after the game.”

“He also confirmed that he’s unsure whether Gareth Bale can start again just a few days after Sunday.”
