Jose Mourinho has provided an update on his squad to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Everton press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to Goodison Park in the FA Cup fifth round tomorrow night.
Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.
Spurs have beaten non-league Marine and Championship strugglers Wycombe Wanderers to book their place in the fifth round while the Toffees have seen off Championship sides Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday.
Mourinho revealed that Dele Alli returned to training yesterday following injury but is not yet match fit and could take his place on the bench.
Serge Aurier is a doubt after hobbling off against West Brom and will be assessed ahead of the game while Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon are definitely out.
"Dele trained yesterday and well. Long time away. Can he play tomorrow? I don't know. Not injured but not fit. Can he help us? To have him on the bench, it's something I'll have to ask him. I think he can."
