Team News: Nuno provides injury update on Son, Skipp and Bergwijn

Nuno Espirito Santo has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Crystal Palace press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Nunoo answering questions prior to the return of the Premier League when the North Londoners head to Selhurst Park in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing platform with journalists still not able to attend Hotspur Way in person in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Tottenham head coach revealed that Son is ‘not so well’ after picking up an injury during the international break, although he does not yet know whether the issue will be long-term.

Nuno also claimed that it is a case of waiting and seeing for Oliver Skipp and Steven Bergwijn too after they also picked up international knocks.

He said (Alasdair Gold): “Like some of our players, he came with issues. Sonny is not so well. Let’s wait for the club to make the announcement. [Is it long-term?] I don’t know. Let’s wait and see. The doctors will make the analysis.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

A long-term Son injury would be a huge blow to Tottenham so early in the season. Let’s hope it is nothing too serious. Hopefully one of Skipp and Bergwijn can make it in time for Palace because three changes to a winning formula would not be ideal.
