Team News: Nuno rules 11 players out of Pacos de Ferreira starting XI – no big injuries

Nuno Espirito Santo has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Paços de Ferreira press conference from the Estadio Capital do Móvel this evening.

Tottenham qualified for the inaugural Europa Conference League after finishing seventh in the Premier League last season.

This will be the first-ever competitive meeting between the two teams with Spurs having last faced Portuguese opponents in European competition in the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League last 16, when they were eliminated by Benfica over two legs.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Nuno answering questions prior to the first leg taking place tomorrow night.

Harry Kane has not made the trip to Portugal with the forward having also missed Sunday’s Premier League victory against Manchester City.

In the press conference, Nuno revealed that no players who started the match against Man City would be involved in the starting eleven against Pacos de Ferreira. He also added that there are always issues after a game, but there were no big injuries from the Man City win.

He said (Football London): “A decision that would be made. Important that all of them have real competition. Players that started game on Sunday not going to be involved.”

On injuries after Man City, he added: “Always every match issues after. Not big things.”
