Team News: Postecoglou says injured Spurs player has had a ‘couple of setbacks’ in recovery

Ange Postecoglou has provided a Tottenham Hotspur team news update ahead of tomorrow’s match against Brentford during this afternoon’s press conference at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham are looking to put behind the disappointment of last week’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester City, which ended their hopes of domestic cup success for yet another season.

Despite the loss to City, there was a positive with the return of James Maddison after nearly three months when the England international came off the bench in the second half.

Giovani Lo Celso has also been a recent absentee having missed the matches against Manchester United and Manchester City.

With no other distractions, Tottenham begin their push for a return to the Champions League against Thomas Frank’s side.

Postecoglou told the Tottenham website that Manor Solomon, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon will all be unavailable for the match against Brentford.

He said: “No, those guys won’t be available. So the situation is pretty much the same as the last game. Manor’s had a couple of setbacks. He had another one this week, so we’re just getting him assessed again.”

Tottenham have had more than their fair share of injuries this season and hopefully, Ange Postecoglou can have his key players available for the remainder of the campaign as the club look to make a push for a top-four finish.
