Team News: Stellini reveals Harry Kane ‘problem’ ahead of Preston cup tie

Assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Preston North End press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Stellini has stepped in to conduct the press conference in place of Antonio Conte, who is not obligated to sit down in front of the media for cup competitions and instead has left it in the hands of his fellow Italian.

With the transfer window closing on Tuesday evening, Conte’s absence from the media duties puts himself directly out of the firing line when any questions are posed about Spurs’ activity in the market.

Tottenham make the trip to Preston tomorrow evening in the fourth round of the FA Cup against their Championship opponents and will be looking to secure their place in the draw as they hope to keep their hopes of silverware alive this season.

Stellini revealed that new signing Arnaut Danjuma is available for selection, however, Harry Kane has struggled with illness this week and has missed some training sessions during the week.

He told Football.London: “Arnaut Danjuma is available. Everybody is available. We only have one problem with Harry [Kane], with illness this week and he hasn’t trained much. He trained today but we have to think about this.”
