Team News: Three ruled out, one doubt and one returns for the trip to Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur have provided a team news update to journalists in attendance at Jose Mourinho’s pre-Aston Villa press conference at Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to the Midlands on Sunday to face a side who are fighting for Premier League survival.

Spurs go into the game knowing that they have to keep in touch with the race for a top four finish, with Chelsea who currently have a four-point advantage are not in action until Monday night when they host Manchester United.

As expected, Harry Kane (hamstring) and Moussa Sissoko (knee) are both continuing their rehabilitation from their respective injuries which they picked up in the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton.

Juan Foyth also missed out with a groin injury,

Giovani Lo Celso has returned to training after missing the FA Cup fourth round replay win against Southampton while Erik Lamela (thigh) will be assessed ahead of the game.

Ben Davies has recently returned to training following an ankle injury which he suffered in the win at West Ham in November.
