Team News: Tottenham coach provides injury update ahead of FA Cup match

Assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Portsmouth press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Stellini has stepped in to conduct the press conference in place of Antonio Conte, following the news of the passing of Gianluca Vialli whom he played with at Juventus.

Attention turns to the FA Cup this weekend when the League One side are the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looking to cause one of the upsets in the third round of the competition.

Pompey head into the match having parted company with manager Danny Cowley earlier this week after a run of nine League One games without a win left them nine points from the play-off places.

Tottenham finally managed a much-needed win on Wednesday night against Crystal Palace when they managed to avoid going behind in the first half following intense pressure from the Eagles and scored four times in the second half.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against the south coast side.

Stellini said (Football London): “We are working hard to recover players. Maybe some can recover next week but we have to focus on this next match and we will respect this competition.”
