Team News: Troy Parrott starts against Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur Under 23’s are in action this evening against their Manchester City counterparts at the new stadium.

Spurs come into the match on a high after demolishing Liverpool 4-0 away from home last weekend.

Manager Wayne Burnett has recalled Troy Parrott to the starting line up after the 17-year-old missed the trip to Merseyside after being included as a back-up to the Tottenham first team for the Premier League opener against Aston Villa.

Another player who impressed during the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East, Japhet Tanganaga also gets a start in the middle of defence, while Jamie Bowden also features.

Brandon Austin was instrumental in goal against Liverpool last weekend when he pulled off a crucial save while the score was just 1-0.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for some of the academy players to play their first match at the 62,062 capacity seater stadium and fans will be hoping that the club can make it two wins out of two against Manchester City this weekend.
