Team News: Two ruled out of trip to Leicester; defender has ankle ligament injury

Ryan Mason has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Leicester City press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon in what could be the last time he faces the media ahead of a fixture as interim head coach.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mason answering questions prior to the trip to King Power Stadium for the last game of the season.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing platform after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.

Qualification for the Europa League remains out of Tottenham’s hands and have to hope that West Ham lose at home to Southampton while beating the Foxes.

Leicester have plenty of motivation going into the match with Champions League football still at stake for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Mason confirmed that Japhet Tanganga has suffered an ankle ligament injury while Ben Davies is back training on his own.

He told Football.London: “Japhet and Ben are out. Japhet suffered a naughty ankle ligament injury and he’ll be out. Ben has started doing some individual training.”
