Team News v Everton: Spurs star suffers hamstring injury in training Mourinho reveals

Tottenham Hotspur have provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Jose Mourinho’s pre-Everton press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

In line with the standard protocol of the press conference format, the media are firstly informed of any injuries within the Spurs squad prior to the Portuguese answering any questions ahead of the Toffees visit to North London on Monday night in the Premier League.

Spurs will be looking to dust themselves off following the poor display during the 3-1 loss at Sheffield United on Thursday evening.

Japhet Tanganga (back) is still sidelined and will return to training next week but Mourinho is unsure if he will play again this season.

The Spurs head coach revealed that Dele Alli has picked up a hamstring injury during training today and does not think it is an “important” strain and expects him to be fit for Monday but did admit he does not fully know.

Six of Everton’s seven wins under manager Carlo Ancelotti in the Premier League have been by a one-goal margin, including both since the competition restarted following the coronavirus pandemic last month.
